Haus des Gastes in Körbecke
Haus des Gastes in Körbecke
Starting in Körbecke, the main town in the municipality of Möhnesee, we follow the 33 km tour around the Westfalen lake. During our excursion, fourteen illustrated stations remind us of the history of NRW's largest reservoir.
Pleasure boating in the 1920s, the Drüggelte post station and the railroad station in Wamel: we follow the traces of the past everywhere we go.
The descriptive information boards allow you to immerse yourself in what happened - from the construction of the imposing dam to its destruction and the recreational paradise.
The 33 km route also offers wonderful views of the lake and its shores.
The ideal starting point for the tour is the Haus des Gastes in Körbecke. We cycle into the town center and follow the signs towards junction 70 . Once we reach the Seepark, we continue in an easterly direction following junction 69. Orientation on this tour is easy as we cycle along the shore of the lake. On the way, we encounter the first information boards in Stockum on Stockumer Damm and in Wamel. After passing the romantic Kanzelbrücke bridge and crossing the Möhne river, we reach the next stop in Völlinghausen. Along the south side of the Möhnesee, we come across three more information boards that bring back memories of times long past. Once we arrive at the Delecke Bridge, we continue along the south side of the lake and enjoy the great views of the Möhnesee from the natural balconies of the Heve peninsula.the tour continues towards Hevedamm, which we cross and finally turn right to the dam wall of the lake. On the way, there are more exciting stories from the past. Once we arrive at the imposing structure, the dam wall, we follow the northern shore to the lake park in Körbecke, from where we return slightly uphill to the parking lot at the Haus des Gastes.junctions: 66 - 70 - 69 - 68 - towards Völlinghausen - 72 - towards Delecke Bridge - 73 - 74 - 75 - 71 - 70 - 66
